Meet Karina Wolfe

Karina Wolfe received her BFA in the acting/ Original Works program at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle (Magna Cum-Laude). She now resides in Los Angeles where she continues to pursue both her stage and on-camera careers while also developing her own projects as a writer and producer.

She’s worked with Alrik and Timothy on several of their projects including The Spirit Machine, Zombie vs Drone and Over My Dead Body. Check out some of her performances below.

How Does an Actor Prepare a Performance?

  • Here are some of the questions we asked Karina
  • What is an actor’s job?
  • What are some of the different acting styles (Meisner, Method, etc) and what do you subscribe to?
  • So you get hired and you’re given a script, what’s the first step?
  • After you’ve read the script once, where do you go from there?
  • What are some of the different ways you go about breaking a script down?
  • How does the break down turn into a performance?
  • How much of what you planned shows up on the day?
  • How well do you need to know a character to embody that person?
  • Do you break it down line by line or is it more an overall wash?
  • Do you need to understand the reason behind every line you say?

Working With Directors

  • When it comes to acting, what is a director’s job?
  • What is not a director’s job?
  • Tell us about the different ways you’ve worked with directors
  • What working style works for you and what doesn’t?
  • What separates good direction from bad direction?
  • How important is it for a director to know “actor’s speak”?
  • Are there certain words you wish more director’s would use?
  • If you remember what it was like working with Timothy, what did he do well and what could he do better?
  • What’s the strangest thing a director’s asked you to do? Did it work?
